What it is

Your own address — yournames.aregettingmarried.uk — that you put on the invitation. Before the day it counts down and takes messages. On the day it carries the ceremony live, with a clock for wherever your family are. After it, it keeps the recording, the photographs and everything anybody wrote.

People who cannot travel are not sent a link to somewhere else. They are at your wedding, on your page, with your names on it.

There are seven looks to pick from and you can change your mind whenever you like — the page keeps whichever you chose, from the day you make it until long after. Try them on the example.

How the stream works

A phone, on a tripod, running a free app that sends the picture to us. Nothing to install for anyone watching, no account for anybody, and no advertisement afterwards for a video about something else.

It wants a decent connection at the venue and somebody to press start. That is genuinely all, but it is not nothing, and we would rather say so here than let you find out on the morning.

What you keep

A week afterwards the page becomes a keepsake and stops changing. From then you can download the whole thing — the page, every photograph, the guest book — as one file that opens in any browser with nothing of ours running. We keep it for as long as we are here, and yours does not depend on that.
